247Sports: YAA Las Vegas Standout Skill Players

A strong collection of talent participated in the You Are Athlete event in Las Vegas.  This group had a lot of players with power four talent. Some of them already hold power four offers. It was a good day of football for all he attended and observed.

Tayaun Lawrence is a 2028 edge player from Bishop Gorman High School (NV) who did a good job today. Lawrence is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospects who holds an early offer from Alabama. He has some great bend in his body when he is coming around the edge. Lawrence is also quick with release. He spent most of the day working out of a three-point stance, but appears to be a guy who has the ability to stand up and attack the edge. While prospects did not have any pads on in drills, Lawrence looks like a player who brings the pain on defense. He has long arms and he knows how to be violent with his hands. Lawrence was a standout performer on Saturday. Colleges from all over the nation are going to be coming in to recruit this kid.

Christian Diehl is 2027 quarterback who did an amazing job on Saturday. He was a clear standout. Diehl is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal caller from Dalmonte Ranch High School (NV) who has long levers and a quick release. He did a good job of making sure that his receivers did not have to break strides in their routes to catch his passes. Diehl was putting the football right to the WRs hands. The ball placement was college level. He should expect to see some division one offers coming his way. His deep ball is beautiful and he puts good zip on short passes. Diehl also made sure he got good drive off of his back leg when the time called for it.

Ezekial Smith is a 2027 wide receiver who is Diehl's teammates at Dalmonte Ranch. Smith is a 6-foot, 180 prospect with good route running skills. He also does a good job of adjusting to the football in the air. He has a great catch radius and does a nice job tracking the football. He did a good job of getting separation in 1-v-1s. Smith also has some good speed to break off a lot of yards after the catch. There are some things to work on, but he has a good foundation as a college level prospect.
