The All American Showcase Day 2 featured one-on-one matchups as well as 7-on-7 competition. Here are a few of the top athletes winning awards.

Offensive Prospects

I did not find the quarterback group as strong as some other positions. The smaller indoor practice facility may have been a factor, as players ran into the wall several times. I did get to see Brailon Davis (6-4, 1950 during the outdoor session, and he was consistent during the 7-on-7 drills. Davis has an offer from Syracuse, and more offers should flow in by the end of his junior season.

I saw the running back group win most of the cat-and-mouse drill. The player who impressed me the most was 2027 Khalil Alamin from Cleveland Heights, where he played running back and linebacker. Alamin is quick and shifty, and he performed the drills effortlessly.

The top receivers were Dayshawn Preston (5-11,180) from New York, Bryson Glover (6-3, 183) from Fort Myers, Florida, and rising senior Landon Banks (5-10, 160) from Arizona.

Preston had speed, separation, and great hands. He has an offer from Merrimack. Glover is tall, and he used his jumping ability to catch passes. He has a D1 offer from Florida A&M. Banks seemed to catch everything thrown his way. He also runs track at Higley High School.

Rising sophomore Reid Robertson (6-4, 215) from Legacy Ranch was physically stronger than most of the defenders, and he catches passes like a receiver. He finished the season with 31 catches for 553 yards and three touchdowns.

Ryland Oliphant (6-5, 235) is a rising sophomore from Archbishop Hoban in Ohio. He has good hands and can adjust to the ball for a catch. He received an offer from Miami (OH).

Linemen Prospects

The offensive line group had a couple of players competing for the top lineman award.

Rising junior Brayden Wilson (6-4, 255) was one of the players the camp coaches pointed out. He lined up at the left tackle spot and held his own in the one-on-one matchups. He attends Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.

I felt David Collom (6-1, 270) was the best lineman. He controlled his defender and adjusted to the defender’s movement. He was an All-District performer at Fulshear High School in Texas. Collom says he has an offer from Minot State.

I didn’t see Jaden Peterson (5-11, 268) lose a one-on-one matchup, and he appears to be very strong for his size. He was selected as one of the top athletes.

YAA Defense

Zen Williams (6-2, 225) from Grayson High School in Georgia. Williams athleticism dominated the linebacker drills, and he was one of the top players at any position. He has D1 offers from Colorado State and UNLV.

LC Bird edge Braeden Harper (6-4 210) is from my home state of Virginia, and he is on the fast track to being a star-rated prospect in the 2028 class. Harper plays in the shadow of Chris Whitehead, the #1 prospect in Virginia, but he has a similar build and attributes.

Harper has an offer from Temple and he should see an increase in offers during the summer.

Linebacker Kaden Peoples (6-2, 210) was selected as a top athlete. A 2028 prospect from Selma, Alabama, Peoples stood out during the position drills and 7-on-7 sessions. He has a D1 offer from North Alabama

Defensive line=man Rishad Burnette (6-1, 250) from Chicago, Illinois, played mostly defensive tackle at the YAA National Showcase in Houston. Although he is undersized, he took advantage of his quickness to blow past the interior offensive lineman.

My top prospect was Donovan Odum (6-2, 212), who worked out at linebacker and defensive end. Panther Creek High School. Odum is long and athletic and did well rushing the passer and defending the pass during the head-to-head matchups. I feel his best fit is as a linebacker.
