There are always going to be those player who gets that first big kick-start in recruitment from attending one of the You Are Athlete combines. This weekend in Texas we saw some talented kids of all classes who we think should be on your radar. Here's just a short sampling.

Rhys Dainauski is a 2027 tight end from Gunter High School (TX). He is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect who has some good hands, and he is able to bend. It is not hard for him to be efficient against players who are smaller than him. Dainauski could possibly be one who can try things out on defense. No, we do not have sure facts on that, but he has the ability of a good edge player or jack backers. He does not hold any offers yet, but he is a player who can make it on the division one level even though he does not have the 6-foot-6 height who some coaches like in tight ends. But he is strong, tough, and aggressive and worth watching.

Looking at a younger tight end, Eli Roper is a 2029 prosepct from Har-Ber High School (AR). When he first showed up, we automatically knew that he had to be a tight end. Roper is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound player who is going to get bigger and taller. We noticed that he has soft hands when he was able to make acrobatic catches, and he is also a decent route runner. We also noticed that he was able to reach up and grab catches with his fingertips. He does need to work on being smoother in and out of his cuts, like most young guys. Roper told us that he is expecting to be the full starter for his school this season.

Charles Petty is a 2027 wide receiver from Joe T. Robinson (AR) with some good route running skills. Petty is a 6-foot, 185-pound wideout who has the muscular build of a running back which bodes well for being able to handle contact on the perimeter. Petty has some good speed with smooth movements in and out of his breaks. He also showed us that he has some sure hands. Petty has the ability to catch some G5 attention with his speed and ball skills. You Are Athlete does not do any live testing, so we can only project what he runs in the 40-yard dash. What we were able to see is that this young can pick them up and put them down and you don't need a stopwatch to prove it.

Marquise Robinson is a 2029 defensive back from North Crowley who has a bright future if he stays on the right road. Robinson is a 6-foot-3, 185-pounder who looked good in 1v1s as well as individual drills. Robinson does a good job of getting his hands on receivers while making sure that his feet are in place. He is not one of those young players with bad mechanics when lining up to cover in 1v1 situations. He could possibly be a safety on the next level, so he may not have to worry about covering man a lot. We saw some film on Robinson, too, and he has some nice ball skills.
