We love discovering the next crop of big time players. After reviewing some fresh film, we have some new names to know.
Alexander Doucette is a quarterback from the 2029 class that is already turning some heads. He turned in a strong performance over the weekend. Doucette is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound player with a really bright future. Doucette was the UA Next L.A. MVP last year. He has the skills that college coaches are looking for. He checks all of the boxes for QBs. Doucette has a big arm, a special blend of athleticism and the ability to make plays when things break down. The word experienced may not be the best description for him at his age, but Doucette is very familiar with how things work in the pocket. He is going to be a player who starts to pick up a lot of offers in the months to come.
Evan McAlister is another 2029 quarterback flashing on the radar. McAlister is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound player who saw a little playing time this year for his team, but the sky is the limit for him next year. He plays for Valencia High School (CA). McAlister knows how to make things go. McAlister is an accurate QB who can also move around in the pocket. He has a strong arm with a quick release. McAlister holds an offer from Sacramento State with more on the way. Wide receivers know he is going to get the football there. They can see it and hear it.Â
Trevor Scott will be the starting quarterback for Mater Dei High School (CA) next season. If you are a real high school football connoisseur, then you know that is a big deal. Scott is a 2029 6-foot-4, 205-pound player who has a strong arm with good ball placement. Scott should see his recruitment skyrocket this spring and summer. He is one of the best players in the nation for the 2029 class. Scott is blessed to be at a program the develops high school quarterbacks into coveted recruiting targets. He has what it takes to be a national level prospect.Â
Lucas Wong is another 2029 quarterback from Los Angeles who we were able to get our eyes on. Wong is not going to wow you with his size at 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, but he has time to grow. He is a quarterback who can fit the football into tighter passing windows. When watching his film, one can seem him make good decisions. He takes care of the football and will make the smart read and not just throw it up for grabs. While not a plus runner, Wong is effective enough as a runner to keep the defense honest. We will be keeping an eye on him as he grows and develops in the seasons ahead.
