Quarterbacks have a harder time throwing the football in really cold weather. Receivers know the football is going to feel rougher hitting the hands in low temperatures. None of this kept us from seeing some good talent in the skill positions at You Are Athlete Charlotte.

Ford Wallace is a 2028 quarterback who is going to see a lot of offers coming his way. Wallace is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound gun slinger who plays the game with a lot of swag. He hails from Hartsville High School (SC). Wallace was challenged a lot today by older players once they realized this was only a sophomore. He stepped up to the test just fine. Wallace has a quick release and a strong arm. The receivers out there were anxious to have him throwing them the football. He knows how to put a beautiful spiral on the ball and those receivers were able to catch the football with ease because he was really accurate.
Ryan Brochu is another 2028 quarterback who you are going to want to know. Brochu is well-built young 6-foot-3, 220-pounds coming from York High School (SC). Of course there was not a lot of running to be done by quarterbacks today, but we can see he is a guy who can move around the field. Standing or moving, the arm is really strong and he gets the ball out on time. Maybe, faster than his targets are used to! Receivers definitely need to get their head around and be ready for his passes. In a live game, he is the kind of quarterback who is going to allow his teammates to have a chance to catch the football and make some moves.
Ayden Montgomery is another young athlete who was impressive in 1v1 drills today. Montgomery is a 6-foot, 190-pound play maker from Gaffney High School (SC) who played mostly at the wide receiver position. What jumped out was the shifty moves he made when reading that the defense was going to press-man him. It did not work today because we saw him lose only 0ne rep. There was another rep where he told his opponent what he was going to do, and the pass was still completed so he plays the game with confidence. Montgomery has some strong hands that can reach up and catch the football in traffic.
Looking farther to the future, Carter Jaime is a 2030 defensive prospect who was on point today. Jaime is a 6-foot, 170-pounder who said he is being home schooled. If I am a local high school coach in the area, I want this kid on my team. His movements on the islands are so fluent and he makes the right steps when his opponent releases from the line. He knows how to play man coverage as well as taking a step back to play off. We also saw him being very disciplined in catch man coverage. This kid has the kind of potential college coaches are going to keep track of for years.
