YAA Birmingham Junior 150 Top Performers

Updated: 2 hours ago

The You Are Athlete Regional Exposure Camp Series made a stop in Birmingham. Some of the top youth & middle school prospects from the southeast Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana, Tennessee) were in attendance.

The prospects below earned an invitation to the You Are Athlete National Junior Showcase on June 13-14 in Houston, TX:

2032 QB Terrance Bryant Jr out of Carrollton (GA.)

Bryant is poised in the pocket and can get the ball out quickly by shortening his release or changing his arm angle. He tends to serve up a tight spiral and has the velocity to get the ball out of his hands quickly.

2030 QB Zion Duncan out of Tuscaloosa (AL)

Dangerous as a runner and will make things happen as a scrambler, but tries to get the job done from the pocket as he works through his progressions. Good upside as an upcoming Alabama prospect.

2030 RB KJ Baker out of Brentwood (TN)

Baker shows good initial acceleration, accompanied by home-run top-end speed. Quick-footed in the hole. Flashes move-stringing ability at the first and second levels. High-Upside prospect with a world of upside.

2030 WR Trent Layton out of Tuscaloosa (AL)

Layton wins on in-breaking routes as he creates separation by sinking his hips and then quickly driving towards soft spots in coverage. Solid hands & ability to make plays.

2030 OL Hudson Tarpley out of Lynnville (TN)

Shows lateral range and more light-footed locomotion than you'd expect for a tackle of his dimensions. Solid upcoming prospect with good size, technique, and upside.

2030 OL Gavin Whitney out Cumming (GA)

Whitney displays encouraging lateral range, especially given size. Seems to have somewhat improved fluidity and ease of motion year over year, entering the next level. Good upside on the interior as a player who can make an early impact.

2030 DE Edward Brewer out of Madison (AL)

Displays favorable block recognition at this stage and understands how to maintain gap integrity while defending the run. Extremely high upside pass rusher with a versatile skillset.

2031 DL Deuce Wilson out of Birmingham (AL)

While he plays tackle as a prep, he projects as an interior lineman in college. In the running game, shows nastiness and quickness when pulling, with elite run blocking skills, hands and violence with foot quickness to sustain and redirect with good body control.

2030 LB Zacarri Posey out of Mendenhall (MS)

Best suited to play inside linebacker but possesses some traits to play outside. Instinctual and plays at high rate of speed. Plays with leverage and bends well in lower body.

2031 DB Tyson Davis out of Attalla (AL)

Davis plays with awareness and ball skills, the latter fostered by big-play receiver reps. Displays encouraging turn-and-locate ability, defending the vertical game.
